Method

  • Use the recipe for pastry and mincemeat or use shop bought pastry and mincemeat. You will need approximately 300g of mincemeat. Grease a bun tin with butter. Roll the pastry out and cut out rounds which will fit into your chosen size tin.
  • Place the pastry rounds into the prepared tin and add a teaspoon of mincemeat to each pastry case. (If you are doing deep filled pies allow more mincemeat per pie.)
  • Roll out pastry again and cut out enough rounds to cover the top of each pie. Bake in a preheated oven for 20 - 25 minutes or until the pastry is golden. Dust with icing sugar if desired.
